Here is the place to write a Show Report for your venue, detailing as much information as you can that might help shows there in years to come. Include things such as dimensions of stage, passing traffic, good spots to flyer, useful promo, tech equipment, ambient noise; anything that will help give shows a good idea of the venue before they arrive. **Please include your show number so we can confirm your show report is in the right venue forum**

Venue captains Karen and Shelagh feedback, the experience at The Street was as seamless as anticipated. The majority of our acts came along to the tech/venue briefing on the Friday, key must dos explained by Wendy and an overview of how the space could be used provided. Staff supportive and engaged with PBHFF, posters printed by the venue and up within the first few days. Storage more than adequate for the range of acts, and we quickly established a way of working together that eased the change over between us. The location is perfect will be even better once Edinburgh and its visitors have got used to sharing space on the roads outside. There is a loading bay that google can help find, its adjacent to Broughton Street lane, can drop off and pick up kit as needed. (ULEZ will impact on this next year, something to consider if you are planning on being part of PBH 2924). Great flyering space outside the omni and playhouse. Couple of issues, hand dryer in toilets , despite there being a notice asking people to use paper towels during performance times there were a few occasions where it was usedbut its character build fir any performer honest ! Accessibility, there are a number of steps down to the basement performance area and then into toilets, which could preclude the less mobile from being part of the audience. Not all our acts flyers so more emphasis on this next year. One of our acts dropped out without a word, leaving a prime slot empty fir the last week, very frustrating. ..apart from that great people, good audience and a fine August.

Show report for show 218. The Street was a fantastic venue for my first fringe. I was there for the Sunday-Friday of the first week, and I couldnt have had a better experience. The tech run through on the Friday was well organised, and the owner was thorough and answered all of our questions and worries! They had microphones, and showed everyone how to plug in laptops etc if needed. It was also a great chance to meet some of the other acts and venue captain. We were shown how to change the sound and lighting depending on our requirements for our show, and we voted on whether we wanted the stage extension to be put out or not at this meeting. The stage itself is very small, with the sound equipment taking over the area, hence we opted for the stage extension. The owner was clear that if we voted on it to be up, it would remain up for the entire month, as they wouldnt keep putting it up and down. There was enough storage space in a locked outbuilding for all the acts that needed to leave things there. Flyering was very successful around the omni centre and playhouse. The space is quite small, with an interesting layout, as it is a basement of a bar/nightclub (there are quite a few steps to get down to the area, so not well suited for the less mobile). You could fit about 30-40 people in the space in front of the stage if necessary, but there is also a side area that would provide more space if the act was one that could essentially move between two rooms. Hand dryers sometimes went off even with signs put up, but it was never a major issue. The owner put all the posters up on the walls, and we could also put our flyers in the window and flyer to customers too. The staff were unbelievable all week long, they were so welcoming, helpful, friendly and so supportive. Would definitely recommend the venue!

[Show 312] Photos of the performance area (the temporary stage is not set up in these photos). The last photo shows the doorway to the backstage area. It is not secured and gets fairly hectic during and between shows so don't leave belongings there. The locked cabinet where performers can store belongings is outside in the smoking area, so dampness and a bit of smell are a factor. I left props there but no costumes. The staff at The Street were absolutely fantastic, and enough locals go there and are curious about the acts that you may get lucky with audiences. Well suited for musical acts, comedy, drag, clown and acts that don't need much surface area. Expect a few chatty folks and walk-ins/walk-outs. Lots of audio options, and there's a bar across the ceiling you can hang a backdrop from.

Show report (show #747) The Street staff extremely nice and helpful, backstage area hectic, have your props in a suitcase or bag. Flyering ok around this area but it's a bit subdued compared to old town, but crowds generally supportive and keen to peek in. Good for shows that allow for latecomers/break the fourth wall as there's an open doorway for the entrance. Excellent sound system, mic available, easy plug in to a headphone jack to your laptop, and again huge thank you to the staff!

Show report for LOVE SICKS (330) I did an 8 day run at The Street in the 9-9.50pm slot. The space is gerat, lights and sound system were LEGIT. The layout is great for audience interaction. It can almost be in the round with people sitting all around the room. My only negative being HAND DRYERS. People don't read signs when they've been drinking. I even taped the signs to the dryers. Didn't work. Someone above said this was character building? Definiltey. Some nights it would come on at the worst time but c'est la vie. Which comes to my last note. This is a great space for interactive, music, comedy, standup work. I brought a play and still made it work but I'd suggest you embrace people walking in and out all show and forgoe wanting to have the sanctity of privacy. But hey that's quintessential Fringe! The staff were super helpful and our venue captains were amazing. I will apply to be here again.
