Here is the place to write a Show Report for your venue, detailing as much information as you can that might help shows there in years to come. Include things such as dimensions of stage, passing traffic, good spots to flyer, useful promo, tech equipment, ambient noise; anything that will help give shows a good idea of the venue before they arrive. **Please include your show number so we can confirm your show report is in the right venue forum**

#globe-bar show 292 Great venue, lovely staff, great space. Terrible noise bleed on Friday and Saturday nights at 8.30 .

#globe-bar show 48 My show was at 11.45am so pretty much escaped the noise bleed issue. As Becky says it's a great space and the staff were really friendly, helpful and supportive. From feedback I'd say that spontaneous audience members were looking for more "gaggy" comedy rather than storytelling/observational style shows in this venue. There is no real storage space so shows with large or multiple props wouldn't work well. We also clubbed together to hire an extra Speaker which was at the back of the room facing in, and that helped a lot with the noise issues.

#globe-bar show 31: Venue and 1-2pm time slot worked for me/my show. There was enough space to shuffle up and down the central corridor between chairs and I took a chair from the front row in order to perform a roly poly. There is insufficient passing traffic outside the venue and on Niddry Street so I flyered by The Inn on the Mile (corner of Niddry/Royal Mile), just up from the venue. I wore Lederhosen to flyer and perform, hung posters at the venue and paid to be in the main programme also. I was worried about tech (playing prerecorded songs from my android phone) but a fellow free fringer showed me how to connect my phone to a mixer via a lead (both of which I believe the venue provided). During one show only I competed with music coming from the venue speakers and when addressed, the issue was resolved.

#globe-bar show 149, The Salmon of Knowledge. Venue managers Chris and Sarah were great, very helpful and accommodating. We were just doing a split hour of stand-up, so the stage was easily big enough; I saw another show there with five comedians on stage, three seated and two standing. The performance space was separated from the main bar area only by a curtain; our time slot of 6:00pm meant that for the first show of our run, we were getting a lot of noise from the crowd in to watch the Scotland rugby game. Globe do show sports events on the TVs, so that might be an issue for quieter shows that are likely to coincide with the games. We'd flyer for an hour and half before door duty time, one of us at the entrance to the bar, one at the top of Niddry Street, in front of Radisson Blu. For unknowns we got decent audiences; our lowest was 8 (on 'black Wednesday'), our highest 20, generally around 15. Looking forward, I think the shows would benefit from there being a spotlight on the comedians, something I did mention to Chris and the VC. Overall, being at Globe was a tremendously positive experience.

#globe-bar Show 0164 - 100 Impressions Of People Ive Met. I quite enjoyed being the first show in (11:45). However this did have its issues. The venue doesnt open until 11:30 so many people looking for the venue when flyering would just wander off to something else with an open venue. There was also one occasion the venue didnt open at all in time for my show and forced me to cancel turning a full room away. The venue were hugely apologetic and offered me a one off where there was space. The positive of being early was I wouldnt have to compete with the noise bleed when sports were on, something many others had issues with. Despite the above issues I would happily take the same slot again, the globe is a great venue with really helpful staff.

Show 270 - Eddy Hare: Leave It With Me. I was doing a 45 minute work-in-progress stand-up show. Globe was a great room for me. It felt easy enough to get people in, and the audiences were nice and up for some interaction. Noise bleed from the bar was a constant factor though, so I had to find a way to work that into the show. That was totally fine and what I was expecting as I already knew there was just a curtain separating the venue and the bar. Just mentioning it to say that if you're planning a show where regular loud noise bleed (including TVs showing games, bar staff and customers chatting etc) will be an issue then this won't be a good room for you. It's very clear that the venue is the secondary function of Globe Bar, which is a sports bar before anything else. But if your show will allow you to have fun with that and make use of it then you'll have a good time! The staff were nice and helpful too.

#globe-bar Show Number 0080 - Now Thats What I Cal Halbert. A fantastic run, Ive had the 11:45 time slot previously but this year was even better as they started opening the venue at 11am. The staff are incredibly helpful and I love being in the globe. Good crowds to start the day in a venue. There was some noise bleed when sports were on, but with the speaker being at the back of the room as well as the front it helps massively. My only complaint would be with other shows not looking after the PA system particularly well. We seemed to go through a couple of cables. This was made aware to venue captain but as a standard rule to everyone, just because were free doesnt mean you shouldnt respect the equipment!

Brian Mooney Globe Bar Show Number 339 Haud the Bus - Its Brian Mooney Ive had a few venues with the PBH Free Fringe over the years and this continues to be my favourite venue. Yes, there is noise bleed from the bar but the staff are friendly and as a central location footfall is good. Managed to have audiences of between 14 - 22 for the six shows performed. Brought in a mic stand to replace a broken one, but no other issues with the equipment provided fortunately. Overall, thanks for having me back!
