Here is the place to write a Show Report for your venue, detailing as much information as you can that might help shows there in years to come. Include things such as dimensions of stage, passing traffic, good spots to flyer, useful promo, tech equipment, ambient noise; anything that will help give shows a good idea of the venue before they arrive. **Please include your show number so we can confirm your show report is in the right venue forum**

Hi all, this is a show report for show number 42 - Neighbours - we were in Canon's Gait Halfway Down. We were performing stand up comedy. The stage was a good size for stand up with just a mic and a stool on the stage. Our most successful form of promotion was speaking to people who were in the pub outside and of people heading in the direction of the pub from the Royal Mile about 45 - 1 hour before the show. There was some sound leak from the pub whilst we were performing and I think a heavier curtain to pull across from the venue to the pub would help with this but the disruption was minimal. The PA system was bluetooth so that we could play music prior to the show. We did have some issues with the mic cutting out unless you held it at an angle. The venue is a little off the main drag so that we found that circling the venue on the wee blue book helped people to find it.

Fringe 2023 show report for Canons Gait LOWER SPACE for The Glitch (show 150) We did a week long run as a 5-piece sketch troupe and had great success here. The stage is VERY small about 1.5m in width, 1m depth. The room is angular, with the stage at the apex of a sort of right angled triangle. There is very little storage space. This is a new room below the halfway down space which is mostly empty in the day time but useful for holding a crowd before the show! We made the small stage work for our larger group by using a banner to make a backstage and then parading around infront of it. There is room for about 45-50 seats max. One PA speaker and one mic is enough for this space. Toilets are down the adjacent corridor. Audio is good with no bleed from the pub above. Lights can be dimmed by the pub staff who need to unlock a door to do this (they were helpful). This was our first fringe and we were massively grateful for the space and really pleased that by the end of the run we had generated good word of mouth attendance and the audience was packed out. Cheers all

Show report NOW 40 3:15PM 5th-27th Aug This was my second year on the bounce at Canons Gait. The lower room had recently been decorated and looked great, as said above its a 45/50 seater with great acoustics so the amp/speaker used was perfect, and there is zero noise bleed from upstairs. Using the halfway-down space as an audience holding area was VERY handy this year, made door work and marshalling any audience so much easier. Staff very friendly and accommodating. The whole experience was very positive.
